Lakeshore Chinooks Game raised $6,500!
Our annual, much anticipated fundraising weekend with the Lakeshore Chinooks took place Saturday, July 29th and Sunday July 30th where they took on the Wausau Woodchucks.
The event was a great success and Habitat for Humanity Ozaukee was able to raise over $6,500 from our jersey auctions, the 50/50 raffle and special ticket packages.

Habitat Dedicates 10th New Home in Port Washington for Tammy and Son Alex
A new milestone was reached as Habitat dedicated its 10th new home in Ozaukee County on Feb. 19th at 170 North Park St. in Port Washington.
Habitat President Tom Urban, board members, community advocates, members of Thrivent Financial and First Immanuel Church in Cedarburg celebrated with homeowner, Tammy, and son, Alex, a 22-year-old with physical and development disabilities. Volunteers contributed over 3,000 hours in just seven months to complete the new home. Tammy and her supporters contributed 250 hours of sweat equity. The new home provides accommodations for Alex's disabilities that will make his quality of life a little better and the care Tammy provides a little easier.
Tammy is a single mother to her son Alex who has cerebral palsy with severe physical and developmental disabilities. He requires extensive care from his mom, who generously gives it 24 hours-a-day, seven days-a-week, 365 days-a-year. The home has many accommodations to improve mobility for Alex, including wider doorways and walls and an accessible shower.
Grafton Area Chamber Awards Habitat for Humanity-Ozaukee Outstanding Community Group Award
On Nov. 20 Habitat for Humanity-Ozaukee was honored as the 2016 Outstanding Community Group by the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce. This award is given each year to a group that exemplifies the highest standards in leadership, stewardship, integrity and community involvement. Tom Urban, Habitat board president, accepted the award surrounded by board members and Grafton homeowner, Cynthia, and her daughter, Harmonee.
Grafton Home Dedication and Open House
Thanks to the generosity of Ozaukee County supporters, new homeowner, Cynthia, and young daughter, Harmonee, are thriving in their new home.
Nearly 50 supporters attended a dedication event and open house last fall to welcome the family to the Grafton community. Cynthia is working hard to improve her family holding down two jobs in Ozaukee County while pursuing a nursing degree from Milwaukee Area Technical College. High crime in her former Milwaukee neighborhood was also a factor in Cynthia’s decision to become a Habitat homeowner.

New Accessible Home Takes Shape with $45,000 Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity® Grant
After more than a decade building affordable homes for families in Ozaukee County, Habitat for Humanity-Ozaukee broke ground on its 10th home in Port Washington in spring of 2016.
Through a national partnership with Thrivent Financial, $45,000 of the home's funding was generously provided by the Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity® program. Thrivent Builds mobilizes Thrivent Financial members and other volunteers to help build homes in partnership with Habitat families.
